# Message Syntax

> Build text, embeds, and Components V2 layouts with the template parser.

## Choose a format

Plain text suits short responses. Embeds provide titles, descriptions, images, and fields. Components V2 supports containers, text, separators, sections, and supported controls.

## Embed templates

Begin with `{embed}` or \$v`{embed}`. Supported directives include title, description, color, field, image, thumbnail, and footer. The message directive sets text outside the embed.

```text theme={null}
{embed}$v{title: Welcome}$v{description: Welcome to the community.}$v{color: #CCCCFF}
```

## Components V2

Start with `{cv2}`. Container content uses && separators, with nested text and separator directives. Keep braces balanced.

```text theme={null}
{cv2}$v{container: color: #CCCCFF && {text: ## Welcome} && {separator} && {text: Read the rules before posting.}}
```

## Preview and send

Use the message builder to preview supported layouts, then paste the generated template into a feature that accepts it. Customembed sends a custom message in the current channel.
